Enjoying a healthy Christmas without overindulging is not as difficult as it may seem. If you’re looking to start the new Year feeling great, follow this simple guide to a merry, healthy Christmas.
Minimize time in the kitchen.
Christmas is all about spending time with your friends and family, not slaving over a hot stove and unconsciously nibbling your way through all the food. try making healthier dishes which can be prepared well in advance like a mushroom and caramelized-shallot studel. This can be made as early as 48 hours prior to the big day, giving you more time to relax and have fun shopping for Christmas-y dinnerware – there are lots of great budget options out there too, check the larger retailers like Tesco to bag yourself a bargain.
Bake your own snacks.
It’s not just Christmas day our waistlines need to watch out for. The run-up to Christmas is often a time of snacking with an endless
selection of tempting treats. instead of purchasing high calorie cookies and cakes, try making your own healthier alternatives. get the kids involved and bake some whole-wheat cookies shaped like Christmas trees or reindeer which can save you calories, and cash. go out and enjoy a Christmas light display rather than watching a series of TV Christmas specials.
Dessert Ice cream is a particular favorite dessert of many households around the world at Christmas, usually served up with warm Christmas
puddings or apple pies. You can still enjoy that sweet, creamy goodness and save as much as 50% off the calories by choosing a frozen yogurt
in plaats van. Surprise your guests by revealing the swap you’ve made once they’ve finished. They’ll be sure to thank you.
Alcohol
If you and those around you enjoy a festive drink, cut the calories by avoiding sugary mixers like full-fat sodas. Fruit juices are also deceptively unhealthy, so try a low calorie tonic water instead or a diet soda. You can save yourself hundreds of calories without tasting the
verschil.

Don’t buy too much food.
We’re all guilty of over-spending at Christmas, and packing our fridges and freezers with as much food as we can cram in. These leftovers often keep us snacking into January, so buy food little and often to make sure you’re not stuck with a mountain of snacks just when you
plan to start your diet. The Internet is full of healthy recipes for snacks and meals. Be sure to plan early and enjoy treats in moderation.
You can still have a great Christmas without adding inches to your waistline.
